About Us
Safer Communities Partnership
Sheffield Safer Communities Partnership is responsible for reducing crime, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse and concerns about those issues in Sheffield.
The Safer Communities Partnership Plan 2008 - 11 describes how we will tackle priorities and how we will measure our success in doing so. It also explains how our work to build safer communities fits with the aims of the Sheffield City Strategy. The plan provides an update on performance during our last strategy period 2005-08.
It has been informed by a city-wide Joint Strategic Intelligence Assessment – a multi-agency analysis of crime and disorder. All the partners from the Safer Communities Partnership have made contributions, giving facts and figures, the reasons for the current situation, and their priorities. We also look at surveys and consultations to get a picture of local people’s opinions.
The last strategy period (2005–08) has been largely focused on reactive work to tackle crime and disorder, address performance related issues and build and improve partnership working. We will develop the work of the Partnership over the coming three years to focus on preventative interventions and support.
